picture of the artist

in 1975, i was born.

i found school to be somewhat traumatic when i was young. i didn't like going and every time i saw the bus i started to cry.

i wanted to stay home and run around in the woods.

it's not that i didn't enjoy learning.

i didn't like being cooped up.

we lived on a farm. collecting salamanders, making mud pies, drawing, and following my mother around were my favorite things to do. "stop following me and go do something constructive!" she would say.

in 1985 my parents moved us to maine. york, maine. they were renovating a house. my brother and i helped a little. i missed the farm, but i soon learned to love living near the ocean.

when i was bigger, i went to college. i studied graphic design and graduated in 1997. i decided that working on a computer all the time wasn't for me. so i drifted around a little bit.

and a little bit more.

i always knew i would be an artist. i just didn't know what kind.

my mother...who is a painter...said i would also be a painter. my father thought i should be an engineer. so now i am a painter, and my brother is an engineer. he works on big ships.

soon i met a great guy. and we liked each other a lot so we got married. he works on big ships too.

now we live together in a small house on a little street in jacksonville, florida.
sometimes it is funny being a "yankee" living in the south. but that's ok, because i like to laugh.

we do a lot of laughing. life is good.
